Mission

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.


Philosophy

The Girl Scout Council of River Trails inspires every girl to her highest ideal of character, conduct, patriotism, and service, and empowers her to develop a sense of self-worth, to achieve her full potential and to prepare for the realities of an ever-changing world.


Vision

Our vision truly is to provide an opportunity for Every Girl, Everywhere to be able to participate in Girl Scouting. In order to provide this opportunity for all girls, we have six Vision Goals that we will strive for:

  1. To assist our girls in succeeding in a world of increased diversity.
  2. To provide opportunities for volunteers to participate in our mission and receive a personally rewarding experience as well as provide a variety of programs that expands the experience and opportunities to our girls.
  3. To ensure that Girl Scouting is supported by strong, adult-oriented fund development and financial stewardship that allows us to meet the needs and interests of our girl members.
  4. To increase the visibility of Girl Scouting in order to expand our community's understanding and support for the purpose, value and importance of Girl Scouting.
  5. To provide continuity of service and expansion of opportunities in Southeastern Minnesota for our girl and adult members.
  6. To develop and maintain Council properties to ensure that each girl is provided safe, unique and accessible facilities that meet the program needs of diverse girl and adult members and the workplace needs of its staff.
