Important Bank Account Info for GS Volunteers

The following information is provided in response to the number of inquires from Girl Scout volunteers about changing or updating their bank account(s) to the new Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys:

·        The Girl Scout finance and legal departments are working together to gather and provide the necessary instructions and documentation required by banks.

·        Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys is not official until October 1.  After this date, we will be able to request the necessary legal documents and provide detailed instructions for volunteers to work with their banks to update their account(s).

·        Volunteers should not make any changes to their account(s) until they receive official notification and the necessary paperwork from their service center.

·        No new bank accounts should be opened until volunteers receive proper banking instructions.

·        Volunteers may continue to use their tax exempt certificates for Girl Scout activity-related purchases following their existing service center guidelines.  Information about new tax exempt certificates will be distributed along with the updated bank account information.

We know you are excited to get going on the 2008 Girl Scout year.  We appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have any additional questions, please contact your local service center or call 800-845-0787.

Minnesota Girl Scouts may now contribute their idle computer time to support research to fight AIDS, cancer and other global health and environmental problems. In an effort to build community amongst our soon to be new organization and to expand the reach of technology amongst girls and volunteers, we have established the Girl Scouts of Minnesota World Community Grid Team. Here's how you can lend your computer to support this important project!
